Canadian school bus contractor Southland Transportation re- cently added 101 Blue Bird Propane Vision buses to its existing propane autogas feet. The new Propane Vision buses, which are equipped with the ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas fuel system and a Ford 6.8- liter engine, will transport students from the Calgary Board of Edu- cation and Medicine Hat School District No. 76 in Alberta. Southland Transportation frst started operating Blue Bird Pro- pane Vision buses in 2007. Offcials said that the company's corpo- rate commitment to the environment can be seen throughout all facets of the organization, from anti-idling initiatives to recycling programs. Southland Transportation buys 101 Blue Bird propane buses Summit Holdings acquires IC Bus dealership Summit Holdings, a holding company formed by the merg- er of Diamond Companies and Roberts Truck Center dealer- ships, has acquired Truck Center Inc., a commercial truck and IC Bus dealership in Tupelo, Mississippi, with a second location in Pontotoc. With the addition of Truck Center Inc., Summit Holdings now operates 31 locations in eight states.The company rep- resents International, IC Bus, and Ford commercial vehicles and Idealease lease and rental services. As locations of Sum- mit Truck Group, the Tupelo and Pontotoc locations will do business as Summit Truck Group of Tupelo. Seon acquired by Safe Fleet Safe Fleet has acquired Seon, manufacturer of video surveillance and feet manage- ment solutions for school and transit buses. Safe Fleet manu- factures safety- and productivi- ty-oriented components for the school bus, emergency vehicle, truck and trailer, utility vehicle and transit bus end markets. Seon's headquarters and main operations will remain in Coquitlam, British Columbia, and Terry Akiyama will con- tinue in his role as president. Seon will join complementary school and transit bus brands under the Safe Fleet umbrella, including Specialty Manufac- turing, Pretoria and Transpec.
