More than two-thirds (68%) of respondents re- ported that their district purchased some new school buses for the 2014-15 school year. Buy any alt-fuel buses this year? Among the districts surveyed that did pur- chase new buses for this school year, 8% bought at least some that are powered by alternative fuels. Starting bus driver pay rises This year's School District Survey found an average school bus driver starting wage of $14.58 per hour, which is 26 cents higher than last year's average and the same as the 2012 average. Drivers trained on CPR? At more than half (57%) of the districts surveyed, school bus drivers undergo CPR training.
